How? With Google's affiliate program: Google AdSense. All you need is a website and knowledge on HTML! Ever see those ads on websites with 'Ads by Google'? That's AdSense.
How does AdSense work, exactly? It's all about advertisers and consumers. Advertisers want to get their items out there. So, they do that with a separate program called Google AdWords. They advertise their sites. Once people see their ads and are interested, they click on the ads. The advertiser gets a potential customer. They pay a small fee to Google. If you are the one who refered the customer to the advertiser's site, Google gives a bit of money to you as a thank you.
